Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Maria Josefa has been one of brick wall lost grandmothers. The only discrepancy I noticed is that she married a Ditter on 1 Jan 1843. I have that she married Amor Phillip Ditter 28 Jan 1834. Their oldest child Joseph Amor was born in 1835. I wonder if they had one of those common law marriages where they lived together as husband & wife until they could get permission to marry from the government. This was quite common in Germany at that time. I have another set of German ancestors who married about 2 weeks before their oldest child was born and I have heard of others having several children before they were allowed to marry.

I was looking through the LDS site and saw some of the Kappes lived in a town called Uissigheim. I wonder if that could be the Unngheim you mention. Old handwriting is extremely difficult to read sometimes.

I am very interested in any other information you have on Maria Josefa and her ancestors. Thanks again!
