Mrs. Raymond (Edith) Kandler, 91, Allouez, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at home.
Edith was born in Barksdale, Wis., September, 1915.
She is the daughter of the late Arthur and Rhoda (Thoreson) Fossum. Edith graduated from Ondossagan High School and Northland College.
She married the late Raymond Kandler Nov. 13, 1942, in El Paso, Texas, and he preceded her in death in February of 2000.
Edith was a longtime teacher and librarian in the Suring School District. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Green Bay for 20 years. Edith was an avid reader, golfer and crossword puzzle aficionado. Some of Edith's most special times were shared with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Raymond "Buzz" and Sue Kandler, Kathy Johnson, Dan Johnson, Kris Berken, and Judy Steffens; grandchildren, Kyle (Josie), Karyn (Eric), Kelly, Bart (Jennifer), Mindy (Ray), Josh (Kristie), Angela (Gary), Justin (Claire), Jordan, Brandon, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Geoffrey, Jepoy (Sally), Jinky (Victor), Mark (Gladys), Gino, Kricia, Lachlan, Reese, Emma, Lawson, and Abigail; great- great-grandchildren, Jeross, Ian, and Nia; one sister, Barbara Vincent; nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; sister, Dorothy Peterson; brother, Craig; great-grandchild, Hannah.
The family thanks you for respecting their mother's wishes for a private memorial service. Anyone who would like to remember Edith can recognize her love of books by donating a children's book to their local school or library. MALCORE (EAST) Funeral Home is assisting the family.
