Your Kalwas are more recent than mine, so I don't know if there's a relationship there.

My Kalwa ancestors arrived in the US in 1890. They were my great grandfather, Johannes Kalwa, his wife Wilhemina Reimer, and their children, John (Johannes Junior, my maternal grandfather) and Anna. They were from Pommerania in West Prussia. That area is in Poland today, very close to the border between Poland and Germany. Kalwa is both a Polish and a German name, but my grandfather said his family was German.

I always thought the Kalwa name was originally Polish and that it became common among Germans due to intermarriages. But when I looked up the origin of the name, most sources said it came from Finnish and means "heroine."

I don't recognize the names you mentioned. I guess it's possible that they could be later generation relatives of my ancestors, but I don't really know.
