Thanks for your quick reply. Any information you might have with regard to my family would be great. Let me tell you what I do know and we'll go from there. I obtained death records last year on my grandfather, Joseph Kaltz and grandmother Agnes. Joseph was born on Feb 28, 1889 and died on June 28, 1977 from chronic lymphocytic leukemia. His parents were Peter Kaltz and Catherine Hoffman. Agnes Kaltz was born on May 21, 1889 and died on February 6, 1942 from breast cancer which metastisized to her brain and spine. Her parents were Jacob Neideck (from Germany) and Amelia Groll. Both my grandparents are buried in Holy Sepulchre cemetary in Southfield Michigan. They had two daughters, my mother Grace (born May, 1919/died September 1959--married John Venn in 1956) and her sister Celesta (born December 1917/died April 1969). My mother's death was due to toxemia, her sister from leukemia. Both are buried in Holy Sepulchre. I know my grandfather had at least two sisters and one brother. The sisters who I visited as a child--lived in Colorodo Springs, Colorodo. One was named Ide (she never married) and the other Mildred (whose married name was Stockdale). I know my grandfather had at least one brother, whose name I'm guessing might have been Milton (his name appears on his death certificate as an informant). I have no background on my grandmother's siblings. I was born August 30, 1957 in Detroit and lived with my grandfather Joseph and my aunt Celesta after my mother died. When my aunt died in 1969 my father and stepmother sent me to boarding school. I never kept in touch with my grandfather except for a couple of times after that. He died while I was in college and my understanding is that during his illness his niece (Milton's daughter) took care of him. When he died, she and her family got his estate (he left no will) and lived in his home in Southfield. She lived there until the late 1980's as I recall. It was by pure accident that my local paper ran an open house add on the home and I recognized the address. My husband and I went to the open house and took along pictures of the home that I had to show that I had grown up there. I mentioned who I was to the agent and left my phone number--thinking that my long lost cousin might call out of curiosity. It never happened. Thanks again for the follow-up.
