I am fairly new to researching the Judd family.
All I have to connect me with the Judd family is a quote from a family member, "My [great] grandmother was a Judd, but I don't know what grandfather's name was except Judd. I never heard of any son's. The following is all I know about them." (She goes on to tell about her great aunts)
I believe she is referring to "my" Sarah as being the "Judd". Sarah was born about 1800-1801 died between 1844-1850 in Callaway Co., MO.
Sarah (MNU..maybe Judd) m Francis McDonald. When and where the marriage took place is unknown. However, Francis's parents (John & Sarah Kincaid McDonald) were living in Green Co., KY in 1810 and 2 of Francis's silbings were married in Green Co., KY about the same time.
The first known child of Francis & Sarah McDoanld was born about 1820. Except, there is a male (b. abt 1815-1818) living with them in the 1830 & 1840 census that could be their son.
So, I am estimating marriage about 1815-1819 and probably KY.
The McDonald's moved to Missouri about 1820 along with the Kincaid family and the Forbis Family.
Part of the Forbis family was living next to Robert Judd in the 1830 Green Co., KY census.
In 1840 Francis McDonald's brother, Matthew McDonald, was living in Green Co., KY. On the same census page appears: Thomas Gooch (Matthew's father in law) and Robert Judd.
I am trying to piece things together, but since (as far as I can tell), there isn't a will for Robert Judd and there isn't a marriage record for Sarah. I am feeling like I hit another brick wall.
Does anyone know if there are any land records or something else that my tie my Sarah to Robert Judd.
However, I did find a web site that states Robert Judd had a daughter born about 1802, but no other info on her.
Sorry if this too long or confusing but if any of this rings any bells, please let me know!
Thanks so much~~Lesley
