Hi PR,

Sorry about that! I am Dyslexic (really) and my nephew was just pointing out the same mistake to me. It is just as well as by correcting this posting, I can add a little more information, so all 's well that....

Jacob Jordahl, born in Norway, arrived in America in either 1856 or 1857 landing in NY. He met a German family on the ship with whom he formed a close attachment. The German family were named Luey, Leuy, or Lue, depending on which court or family document you look at. Jacob joined the WI 15th Infantry and was wounded in the Battle of Stones River near Murfreesboro, TN on Dec. 31, 1862. Jacob's military file shows that he had a habit of entering the battlefields against direct orders to retrieve fallen comrades, and was the reason that he was never promoted above private. After the war, Jacob returned to the Racine/Norway WI area and apparently worked in the lumbercamps there. In the late 1860's, he married Anna Luey, Leuy, Lue who was the daughter of John Luey, Leuy, Lue. Jacob and Anna had their son, Henry, in 1872, their daughter Cora in 1874, and their daughter Clara Rebecca in 1876. At some point in the next two years, Jacob died in a rollaway on the Manistee River in MI. He was river boss for Louis Sands, a lumber baron in MI.

If anyone has any information on Jacob, could you please contact me? Thank you in advance.
