I have been going through the Johnson surname in the York County Maine probate films looking for my Johnson's, and have compiled abstracts of many of the early probate files giving heirs mentioned. The number is the probate file #, and the date is off of one of the papers in each file (and is not necessarily the date of death). The location is that of the deceased or in the case of guardianships, the child. The spelling of some of the non-Johnson surnames was difficult to read, but I have made the best guess at the actual name. Where a marriage is stated, it means that this person was listed as the "wife of..." In some cases I have copies of portions of the file, but in many cases I do not, since I only copied those of interest to my particular search. I thought these might be of interest to someone since so many relationships could be gleaned from the information. Anything noted in parenthesis was a comment I made regarding the person. Please post a reply if you wish to see if I have copies of any particular file.(sorry for the weird spacing, as I entered this into an excel document and then copied here)
