Well, it's a little disheartening to be the only one posting a message on this board. But perhaps it will lead to good things.

I am researching the Jeffares line that came into Georgia in the early 1800's. My g-g-g-g-grandfather was Henry Jeffares, b. 1786-1795 in Ireland, d. 3/08/1863 in Dekalb County, GA. He married Martha Tharpe first and had 4 children, then married Elizabeth Rainey and had 3 more children.

Children with Martha Tharpe are, John Edwin Jeffares, b. 1822, d. 8/28/1864. He died in Macon, GA as a confederate solider during the Civil War. Annie D Jeffares, Robert D Jeffares and Issac Jeffares.

Children with Elizabeth Rainey are: Bennett Rainey Jeaffaes, Martha A Jeffares and Henry J Jeffares.

My g-g-g-grandfather, John Edwin Jeffares married Nancy Wallace. They had 6 children, Mary H Jeffares, Martha Jeffares, John A. T. Jeffares, William H. Jeffares, Robert D. Jeffares and my g-g-grandfather, Frances Marion Jeffares.

Frances Marion Jeffares married Martha A Kelly and they had 10 children, including my great-grandfather, Walked Ebenezer Jeffares.

Anyone out there researching this line please contact me at smcmts@atl.mediaone.net.
