VIENNA – A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McCauley Funeral Home, for Kem Jarvis, 62, who passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Jarvis was born July 4, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio a son of Ervil and Barbara Prather Popplewell, and came to this area as a child.
He was a boilermaker, working for Union Local 154 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and retired in 2005.
He was an Army veteran, serving in Vietnam and Germany, like to fish and hunt, played many musical instruments, especially the drums and guitar and always enjoyed being with family and was a graduate of Liberty High School.
Mr. Jarvis is survived by his wife, the former Michele Durina, whom he married Feb. 5, 1983; his mother, Barbara Jarvis of St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughter Jennifer Popplewell of Texas; stepson Matthew (Emily) Guarnieri of Boardman, Ohio; brothers Jeffrey Jarvis of Tennessee and Greg (Sharon) Jarvis of Vienna, OH; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Durina; among other grandchildren he leaves, Matthew, Heaton and Regan; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dr. Richard Jarvis; and his father-in-law, Michael Durina.
The family will receive friends and family from noon to 1:50 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
