The descendants of the Dyer family of Choctaw, taught by John James, reveal what they think about their ancestry.

An update to the previous New Found Line of Mack Henry James reveals what happened to Mack in Bloomington, Illinois, after he abandoned his family. New found descendants of a daughter of Mack Henry James are also featured in the New Found Line of Geneva James.

Numerous New Found Lines are also featured. The line of Mosby James links the isolated Jesse & Frank James family with other James families, long believed to be related. The line of Sylvester L. James links the Tomlinson cousin of James in-law Rachel Tomlinson to another James line.
The line of William T. James, son of Daniel Field James, finds modern day descendants in Illinois. Nearby, a visit is paid to the ancestral home of James cousin and poet Vachel Lindsay.

Stray Leaves 2000 presents three family album slide shows, honoring recently deceased Deanie James and Billie "Crickett" Shirley-Mills, great granddaughter of John James of Alvarado, Tx. The Jackson Waite James Annual Picnic of 1998 is also featured, reuniting two James family lines, long lost to each other for more than 135 years.

Jesse & Frank James followers can see new additions to the Jesse James Family Look-Alilke Photo Gallery. This edition features Susan Lavenia James, Jesse & Frank's sister, and Judge James Randall Ross, Jesse's great grandson.

Phil Stewart reveals two abridged excerpts from his book in progress. Based on previously unpublished material, Phil explores the plot by James neighbors to capture Jesse James and the plot by the government to assassinate him. A photo features also shows Jesse James final home and not so final burial place in words and photos of the period.

Past articles about James family connection Rev. Jeremiah Vardeman are now updated with a feature about recent exhumations at Vardeman Cemetery, Lincoln Co KY.

The Surnames searchable database is now expanded to 89,000 related individuals. Plus there are also other James gedcoms to search, both unrelated and believed to be related.

Stray Leaves now features abridged excerpts from books by James family authors. One from "In The Shadow of Jesse James" by Stella Frances James. Another excerpt from James Randall Ross' book "I, Jesse James," features the Prophecy of the Two Bastards, family lore that may soon reveal the James family is far more reaching than previously believed or published.
