This John was a brother of Conrad and Moses, was born in East Tennessee, moved to Boone County, Indiana, then to Platte County, Missouri, in the 1850s. One son, Ambrose, remained in Indiana. After the Civil War, Jophn and other family members, including son Reuban, moved to Barton County, Missouri.

In response to a posting on a Civil War site, I was told:

John Eisenhour is listed in Eakin's & Hale's "Branded as Rebels" Volume 1. His son, Reuben Eisenhour, is also listed. They each have a biography in this fine book and their bios are identical:

"Eisenhour, John (and Reuben). Rejected or challenged voter in the Platte County elections of 1866 [due to southern sympathies]. Ref: Journal of Missouri's 24th General Assembly; KCG, Vol 22, #1."

Does anyone know of any Civil Was history of John and his family, for example, were they in Confederate irregular units, etc.
