I was browsing the GenForum Message Board and found a posting that Richard Ingersoll 1587 Edworth Bedfordshire - 1644 Salem, Essex County came over on the Mayflower. And Rick Ingersoll has on his web site an extract:

The Planters of The Commonwealth in Massachusetts, 1620-1640 Page 64-65

MAYFLOWER, William Peirce, Master, left Gravesend in March with thirty-five passengers, mostly from Leyden, Holland, destined for Plymouth. She arrived May 15.1 [1 Bradford, 11, 65.] (What year?)

RICHARD INGERSOLL of Sandy, county Bedford Salem
Mrs. Anne Ingersoll ,George Ingersoll ,Joanna Ingersoll
John Ingersoll , Sarah Ingersoll , Alice Ingersoll

If they did come on the Mayflower , they must have been on a later voyage then 1620. And why did the family move so quickly to Salem?
