YOUNGSTOWN – Michael Hritz Jr., 90, who died the morning of Jan. 25, at Austinwoods.

Michael was born on Aug. 21, 1920, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) a son of Michael and Mary Klinichak Hritz.

He was a member of the 1939 Class of Woodrow Wilson High School, which was the first class to graduate from the school. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944, serving during World War II.

Michael worked as a foreman for the Youngstown Street Department, retiring in 1985 with 20 years of service.

He belonged to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and to the church’s Golden Circle senior group.
He also served as a bus driver for Byzantine Catholic Central School. He was a member of the Byzantine Men’s Association and the G.C.U. Bowling League.

Besides her parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brothers, John and George Hritz.

He is survived by his wife, the former Anna Macynski, whom he married on Aug. 2, 1947; his son, Robert (Claudia) Hritz of Canfield, Ohio; his daughter, Janet Thomas also of Canfield; his brothers, Joseph (Mary Ellen) Hritz of Boardman, Ohio and William (Ann Marie) Hritz of Poland, Ohio; his grandchildren, Erica (Scott) Fleming of Canfield, Lesley (Michael) Busico also of Canfield, Christopher Hritz of Pittsburgh and Brian Hritz of Canfield; and his great-grandchildren, Reagan, Scott and Lyla Fleming and Cecilia Busico.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Kubina-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Boardman and at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown, Ohio
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., where a Panachida will be held at 4:45 p.m.

Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

Michael’s family would like to thank the staff of Austinwoods for the care he received while there.

YOUNGSTOWN –Anna Hritz, 90, .

Anna was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Youngstown, and was the daughter of Wasyl and Anna Macynski.

She was a devoted mother, grammie and baba, who enjoyed baking and cooking, especially for Sunday dinners. Anna was a lady that loved many different types of sweets.

She worked for Strouss Company from 1962 to 1977.

Anna was a former member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church.

Anna leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Janet Thomas of Canfield; a son, Robert (Claudia) Hritz of Canfield; a sister, Julia (William) Pierko of Connecticut; grandchildren, Erica (Scott) Fleming, Lesley (Michael) Busico, and Christopher and Brian Hritz; and great-grandchildren, Reagan, Scott, Lyla, Cecelia, and Harper.

Besides her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Hritz, whom she married Aug. 2, 1947, and went to be with the Lord on Jan. 25, 2011; brothers, John Macynski and Frank Mason; and a sister, Mary Suhar.

The Hritz family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends Friday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. with 7:30 p.m. parastas.

Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
