1828, Jefferson Co. Tn. His children are: Delilah, Asa, Alfred
E., Walter, Temperance, and Elizabeth. Most of them born in Tn. Two of them married Talbotts in Tn.===

I spent 5 hrs in the library today
and came up with one little hint.
I found the following: ==
303 Andrew Longacre deed to William Howell 6 May 1809. 23 Feb.
1809 100 acres. $200.00. On both
sides of the main Road leading from Mossey Creek Iron Works to the Panter Springs adj. Benjamin
Longacre. Wit: Williston Talbott;
William Caldwell./s/ Andrew Longacre April Sessions 1809.Then
was the within deed proved in open court by the testimony of Parry
Talbott and William Caldwell,
subscribing witnesses thereto, and
recorded. Let it be registered. Attest /s/J. Hamilton, Clk,
by David Berton, D.C.====
Note from Darla: Are these Talbotts related to the Talbotts
that married Asa and Elizabeth? Is it Elizabeth?===
Note from Dorthy Carroll:(Her
Henry Howell may be bro.of William)===(Mar 20, 2000
Jimmie, I remembered seeing "Longacre" somewhere along the line in old resarch. Here it is.

Re: William Howell==
This is indeed our William Howell
and this land is located between the village of Talbott and Morristown. Parry and Williston
Talbott probably were brothers
with Parry being the father-in-
law of Asa and Elizabeth Howell.==
(Source of my information on Ross
and his family is from Talbott Fam. bible, and a copy of an old
letter from a descendant stating that Ross' daughter Martha Talbott, had moved his remains from the old Talbott Cemetery and
reburied him with his wife, Temperance Howell, in the Sunderland Cemetery, between
Jefferson City(formerly called Mossy Creek)and Morristown. Morristown was in Jefferson Co. but fell into Hablen County when that county was established.
His father Parry may have been the bro. of Williston, born 1775, Bedford Co. Va. and who married
HesterCarper, daughter of Jacob
and Mary Peck Carper, in Botetourt Co. Va, later lived in Jefferson Co. Tn. also.===
Asa and Elizabeth Talbott Howell moved to Perry Co. to land(now in
Decatur Co.) that William had been
granted there, where she died before the 1840 census, leaving
several children, among whom were
William, Prudence Elizabeth, Delilh, James B., and Walter Bryant Howell. Ross and Elizabeth Howell Talbott moved there about the same time, but went back to
Jefferson Co. before the 1850 census. This was about the same time that Walter Howell and Nancy
Lawrence Howell moved to McNairy Co. to land that William had been
granted for them, and when he, his
wife Prudence and Bachelor son
Edward moved to his grant in Henderson Co. William may have died before their move was completed.====
The village of Talbott is on the
railroad between Jefferson City and Morrristown, was named for the
Talbott family, which settled there in the 1790s. My husband and
I visited the Sunderland Cemetery last year inroute to Va. and found
an obelisk type of headstone with
names of both Ross and Elizabeth.
