Charles V. HEISA 92, of Zanesville, Ohio and formerly of Circleville, OHIO passed Tues. Dec. 3, 2013 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville, OH (Muskingum County)

Born in Cleveland, OHIO (Cuyahoga County) to the late Chester C. and Carrie Louise (Hartman) Heisa.

Graduated from Mantua H.S., Mantua, Ohio in 1939, Charles went into the Army during W.W.II in 80th Infantry Div. under General Patton and was involved in the Normandy Invasion.

Then to Hiram College with a BA in 1949, Kent State B.S. in 1950, and a M.Ed. in 1954 Phi Delta Pi at Kent State.
Charles spent nearly 50 years as an Educator, Teaching , as Principal, and Coaching.
The schools he had taught included; Deerfield School, Newton Falls, Lake County, Ohio Schools, Boy's Industrial School Lancaster, Ohio, Bloom Carroll, and Retired from Jefferson School Dist. Gahanna, Ohio in 1980.
He was ordained in the Disciples of Christ Church in Indianapolis and a graduate of American Bible College in Chicago, IL. with Bachelors in Theology.
Ordained in the American Evangelical Christian Churches at Indianapolis in 1979.
He then moved to Ocala, FL and taught at Ocala Christian Academy and had a nursing home ministry, while in Ocala.
Around 2000 with his former wife Evelyn, then moved back to Ohio in Pickaway County, Ohio closer to family.
He was a member Newton Falls F.&A.M, VFW Post 7941 So. Bloomfield.
Attended the Darbyville Community Church.

Preceded by wife Evelyn Clifton Azbell, June 9, 2009, sister Madeline Louie Sunderman; step daughter Bonnie Boyer.

Survived by his wife Nancy Jones Heisa of Zanesville whom he married Nov. 15, 2010 ; sons Mark (Karen) Heisa of Rootstown, Ohio and Grant Heisa of Kent, OH; stepson Bob (Carolyn) Azbell of CA.; adopted children Sean and Ashley Heisa; Step Children, Rodney Jones, Michelle Jones, Kecia Williams, Polly (James) Maynard, Mark (Rachelle) Jones, Chris (Maranda) Jones, 11 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren; step granddaughter Thresa Waits; numerous

nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Sat. Dec. 7, 2013 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, Ohio with Rev. Denver Peters officiating.

Calling hours from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Muhlenberg Township Cemetery, Darbyville, Pickaway County) Ohio.
