I wouldn't worry about an i vs e. Many census takers wouldn't as someone how to spell a name and could easily spell it either way. I'd think they'd be pronounced essentially the same.
I show one son for Walter and Alice, Willis T b 1922 d 31 Dec 1965 Columbus, OH. Since Alice's father was John Theodore Knoderer, my first guess is that Theodore was this Willis' middle name. BTW, in the 1900 census Theodore was entered as John Knoder. A couple of lines dropped the last "er" at one point or another. BTW, I'd be interested in the death date of Willis R Harbeson. I've got Ida's death certificate but no death date for Willis.
My genealogy program doesn't calculate connections through marriage as far as nephews, But she's my 2nd cousin 3 times removed, so you're the nephew of my 2nd cousin 3 times removed.
