Does anyone have a copy of John's actual revoluytionary war pension application and/or Joyce's? Are they two separate applications. Does anyone know what the dates say and the applications say. Where John and/or Joyce actually died?

Any help is most sincerely appreciated.

Joyce was living in Jackson Co GA when her pension application was executed
Sep 15, 1838.
This one says application February 19th 1839.

This one says her application was 1832??? KH
In her application for a Revolutionary War pension in 1832, Joyce Hampton stated that her husband, John Hampton, had been born in Frederick County, Virginia, on December 22, 1761, and that they had been married on September 18, 1782; she stated that her maiden name had been Joyce Malone and that she had been born June 24, 1766. She was a resident of Jackson County, Georgia, when she made her application in 1832.

This one says she was in GA in 1850 living with family????? KH

Some genealogies have that John and Joyce Malone Hampton had a daughter Sarah b. 1812 who md. Abdi Shockley. There is a Sarah Malone md. to Abdi Shockley 23 Decemeber 1830 by A. Ray, Minister of Gospel. Jackson Co., Ga. Joyce Malone Hampton is living in the 1850 census of Jackson Co., Ga. with Abdi and Sarah Shockley and their children.
Joyce is not in the 1860 census of this family.
Other researchers also list sons, Henry Hampton, son Wade Hampton.

This one says Joyce and John both died in Alabama???
In the Rev. War pension papers for Joyce Hampton, there is a statement by a
Eliza Cowan that states in part:

" Eliza Cowan .. being duly sworn according to laws saith .. that she
lived near John Hampton and Joyce Hampton in Cherokee County State of Alabama
that she visited him while sick and was present after his death saw him -?- saw him laid in the coffin and saw him buried which as the eighteenth & nineteenth day of June 1837 ... "

I wonder if anyone else might interpret this to mean John Hampton might have died in Cherokee County, AL instead of Jackson Co., GA as claimed?

Thanks Karl Hampton
