Groesbecks in Texas in mid 1800s

I am looking for people who are connected to the Groesbeck family that was from New York.

They names I know about are John, Abraham and a man with initials A E, (from census records). John many have settled in the St. Augestine area and run a business of some sort. I have reason to believe he eventually sold that business to Abraham Groesbeck. I think John eventually died, maybe around 1856. The Groesbecks were in business with William Marsh Rice and his brother was Frederick A Rice. The Rices were fixtures in forming the Houston land and RRs. I think Abraham Groesbeck was from Houston also or perhaps Galveston.

I received a copy of a Texas supreme court case and John and Abrahams names are mentioned among the papers.

Perhaps someone here can straighten me out with regards to their connections.
