Luite Dragt was born about 1852 in Hardenberg Ambt, Overijssel "Ov", as son of Klaas Luiten Dragt and Alberdina Brink. He married Barbara Groenink on 20 Nov 1877 in Den Ham (Ov). Barbara Groenink was born in Steenwijk (Ov) around 1854 as daughter of Roelof Groenink and Aaltje Bijkerk, as 7th of their 10 children. Barbara's brother Albert (* Nov 1851) married Luite's sister Marrigje (* Oct 1848) on 20 Dec(!) 1877, also in Den Ham (Ov). They had one son, Klaas who was born on 12 Oct 1880. Barbara and Luite also had a son, born in 1881. And between some time from thereon in and 1886 all the above named people moved to the US - with the the exception of Klaas Luiten and Alberdina Brink and perhaps also that of Roelof Groenink. A brother of Barbara and Albert, Andries, also moves to the US and dies there on 6 Mar 1918 in Muskegon, Michigan. Whether his (third) wife Grietje Tip, whom he married on 14 Nov 1884 in Blokzijl (Ov), also joined him I'm not quite sure. The Dutch first names don't necessarily get translated with a corresponding English first name and, unlike Dutch tradition, women get referred to with their husband's family name (the death of that of Alice Groenink would have been registered as that of Aaltje Bijkerk has she died in the Netherlands). Futhermore, there are various misspellings of the Dutch surnames (Dragt > Draght, Draft, for example).
Klaas (Nicolas) Groenink gets (wrongly) renamed as Charles and - most likely scenario - Barbara and Luite's son was also most likely called Klaas and gets renamed as Charles.
Aaltje Bijkerk dies in Antrim, Michigan on 5 Jul 1889, which was registered as that of Alice Groenink, widowed, aged 69, parents John and Alice Bijkerk (in the Dutch marriage records for the wedding of their daughter to Roelof Groenink they are listed as Jan Cornelis Bijkerk and Aaltje Albers de Boer).
Albert Groenink and Marrigje Dragt have at least two more children, daughters, in the US, Dinny (* 1886) and Margje (* Oct 1888), while Luite Dragt and Barbara have, at least, five more children, but they all seem to be getting the family name Draft.
The Dutch born Klaas / Charles Groenink marries Rena Roman on 12 Apr 1906 in Muskegon, MI and they have two sons, Albert (* 1910) and Harry (* 1910). Charles dies 18 Aug 1951 in White Cloud, Newaygo, MI.
Dutch born Klaas (?) Dragt / Charles Draft marries Dinah Buikema on 17 Oct 1907 in Grand Rapids, Kent, MI.
I do not have any further information on any other descendants of the Dragt/Groenink foursome, so would be keen hear of any additions.
I do have further records of ancestors on the Groenink side going back to 1670 and further back for those on the some of those on the maternal sides of the Groeninks.
Coincidentally, many of the Groeninks in South Africa are descendants of Roelof's half brother and cousin, Evert (Roelof's father, Andries Roelofs Groenink (* ca. 1792) married two sisters: on 14 Jan 1814 Barbara Bakker (* 1794, Steenwijk (Ov) - 31 Jul 1837, Steenwijk)) and on 31 Oct 1840 Grietje (* 1803, Steenwijk - 1 Apr 1870)), so their respective kids were half siblings, as well as each other's cousins - and they all had the same grand parents.
