I would be interested to hear what you found out. I've been trying to locate ancestors of Carl (Karl) Goebel and Sabine (nee Sahm) Goebel in Germany. See discussion below. Comal County is in Texas.

Thanks in advance to anyone with more info.

The Bremers and Their Kin in Germany and in Texas, by Robert R. Robinson, Jr. (copyright 1979)

(from pg 1069),,

A probable daughter of the Christoph Rukles was Bertha who married Herman Goebel, born November 26, 1873, the son of Ferdinand and Wilhelmine (Roege) Goebel (or Göbel). Ferdinand was born November April 13, 1827 at Reh, Amt Rennerod, and he may have accompanied an older brother name Karl and his wife to Texas in 1852; the Karl Goebels are discussed in the VOIGT Section. Wilhelmina, with whom Ferdinand was united in marriage in Comal County on January 22, 1865, was born May 20, 1846 in Comal County, the daughter of Cord Heinrich and Margarehe (Brüms) Roege who are discussed in the JONAS Section.

(from pgs 1469-1470.)

It is unknown when the Sahm family arrived in Texas, although their relatives, Ludwig Jacob and Christine (Goebel) Sahm, and their family of Reh, Nassau, arrived aboard the George Dilius in 1845. Some other Sahm relatives, Karl and Sabine (Sahm) Goebel (or Göbel), arrived in Texas in 1852. Karl, who was a "Tailor" in 1860, was born circa 1821 in Hohenrodt, Amt Herborn, Nassau. Sabine, whom he had married at Drittdorf, Amt Herborn, shortly before the couple's emigration, was born circa 1830 at Reh, Amt Rennerod.

Ferdinand Goebel, who is discussed in the REEH Section, was undoubtedly Karl's younger brother. Johann Jost Goebel and his two children, Elisa and Jost Heinrich, who arrived aboard the Arminius in 1845 from Driedorf (Drittdorf??), Nassau, were probably also relatives; the same may also have been true of the Jost Heinrich and Anna Maria (Kolb) Goebel Jr. family and of Wilhelm Goebel, all from Breitscheid, Nassau, who arrived aboard the Auguste Meline in 1845, afterwards settling in Gillespie County.
