John G. Gilmore, 81 of Eureka California, died in a eureka hospital, September 8, after a long illness. He was born June 13, 1877 in Kerby, Oregon. He was the son of David M. Gilmore and Mary F. Gilmore early settlers of the Illinois Valley. He lived his early years in the valley and worked most of his life as a miner and a farmer. He also drove stage coast in eastern Oregon and other routes of the west.
He is survived by a brother, William E, Gilmore of Eureka and a sister Maude Brown Hedden of Arcata California, nephews Vess Clark of hayfork California Charles Gilmore,
Klamath Falls Oregon Vern Gilmore Happy camp California David Gilmore Eureka, Arthur Brown Kings Bay California and Robert Brown of Honeydew California.
