Noel, I'm the admin of the Gallion/Galyean project and would love to have your data added!!! We've got only 8 participants, so far, and I've also manuallly added the data for Bartlett Sexton, as most of his decendents went by the name Galyon and anyone who tests under his line, would wind up looking for a Galyon project.

In any event, the results so far are very interesting. We had to go all the way to 111 markers to find a single mutation in the lines between Shadrick Galyean, and my ancestor, Daniel Galyean, of Knox Co., TN.

Cheryl's brother was tested all the way to the 111 level as well, and matches identically with Shadrick. According to the record for his marriage to Mary Dooley, this John W. Gallion was b. in Henderson KY and his parents are listed as Joshua and Anna. I've long suspected that Joshua, son of Jacob was the father of my Daniel, so finding that information about John W's parents, supports this theory.

Descendants of John A. Gallion have so many mutations from the above 3 samples, that the most recent common ancestor, obviously well predates the early 1800's, and a line from Abner Gallion has even more mutations. Three other samples in the project are unidentified as to pedigree, and are only 12 marker samples, so really useless as to helping define lineages.
