Hello David Galland desendants - My name is Hily J. Greene, I am a ggggrand dau of David and Phoebe Galland - Who are both laid to rest in the Johnson Cemetery in an area of what used to be Belfast, Iowa. Been there to pay respects. Isaac and Margaret Galland, laid to rest in "Galland" Cemetery (real name is Carmen Cemetery) outside Revere, MO. along with many of the children they had.

I too would like to have copies of the photos and letters that Loyal mentioned in the above threads ... If you could send copies I would be happy to refund costs of shipping etc.

My Aunt AnnaLee and Mother Phyllis and I have been to all the cemeteries and places that David and our line through Isaac Galland have lived, given birth and died. I would be happy to share with anyone interested our findings and give directions to anyone wanting to retrace our steps.

The only person we were unable to find the grave for was (Dr)Isaac Galland (David's brother). We know which cemetery he is in - however it started to rain hard and we could not continue the search. We are also unsure a marked stone still exists for him as most from his time are worn clean from the elements. I'd be happy to share what I know there as well.

I have several copies of the Galland Pages that Tom put together. Though after our recent move it might take me a few months to track down. They are in a box somewhere.

I have Isaac Galland's Bible as well as the Bible of Samuel Moore - who's dau (Martha Ann) married married John Nichols - who's dau (Hily Nichols) married one of Isaac's and Margaret's sons Charles Galland. I would be happy to share anything from those two records in which you might be interested.

Isaac and Margaret Galland's portraits are hanging in the "Cannon Ball" House in Athens, Mo. (a state park)
opened on request by the park caretakers (very nice people)
They were found in an attick by a person that bought a home outside "Sweethome,Mo" and as they did not know who they were turned the pictures over to the State Park near by who gladdly accepted them, restored them and hung them on the wall for all to see, unfortunately without their names.

Anyway - I could on and on - I'll leave it to those interested in further info on anything I have mentioned to contact me via email or the message board to ask questions. I can not check the board every day, I will check it as often as I can to respond to your interests and questions.

Thank you, Hily Greene
