Hi Sherry,

As far as I know, the three children did not die from t.b., but it was common for women who had t.b. to have children be either stillborn, or not to live long. Only the one lived, as I said. Nellie's daughter, Myrtle, died around 1991.

My father, at that time, was farming on the family farm in Independent Hill, VA. Later, he moved to D.C. and worked for the Federal Government at the Navy Yard there. He was a precision glass maker and we lived in Maryland. He worked there for 30 years and retired in the late 1940's.

I moved from Maryland to Arizona and have lived here now for 10 years. I get back to Maryland when I can. I was just back there in February for my brother's funeral. A couple years ago, I talked to French Gallahan's son, Wilbur. He also lives in Maryland. He remembered a lot about his Gallahan family. Do you know him? His father, French, was a brother to Raymond. Did you ever hear much about Raymond's brothers and sisters? Did you ever meet any of them? Please feel free to email me, if you'd like.
