I'm researching the Gallahan family for my aunt. She is descendant of Benjamin Franklin Gallahan and Mary Elizabeth Horton through their daughter Lillian Virginia Estelle Gallahan.

Lillian Virginia Estelle Gallahan was born April 1899 in Virginia. She appears on the 1900 Census for Prince William County, Virginia, as "Virginia L." born April 1899. She died 20 April 1986 in Arlington County, Virginia. Her obituary in the Frederick Post has her birth as 9 April 1901.

Lillian married Harry Louis Wurtz on 30 March 1918 in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland.

Harry Louis Wurtz was born 14 October 1898 in Adams County, Illinois, to William Casper Henry Wurtz and Louisa Lechow. Sometime between the 1900 Census and the 1910 Census the family moved east to Washington, D. C., then to the Maryland suburbs.

Harry Wurtz registered for the Draft on 12 September 1918 in Upper Marlboro, Prince George's County, Maryland.

In October 1918 Harry Louis Wurtz died. The Washington Post's "Deaths Reported" column for October 15 did not list the cause of death; "Harry L. Wurtz, 19 yrs., Mt. Rainier, Md."

Harriet Estell Wurtz was born 12 November 1918 in Mount Rainier, Maryland; a month after her father's death.

About 1921 Lillian Gallahan Wurtz married John William Barber or Laytonsville, Maryland. There were 3 children born to this marriage.

Please let me know if you would like additional information on these lines.

I would like additional information on the ancestors of Benjamin Franklin Gallahan and Mary Elizabeth Horton.

Thank you,
Audrey
