Greetings from Minnesota - Here is what I have for info to date. My great grandfather Michael Gabrick,Sr. had the last name spelled as "Gabrik" prior to coming over to the U.S.. As to when the "C" was added is not certain. Two places of entry has been the story for now,one in Galveston,Texas, and the other being out east from a ship named "Neckar". The lineage that connects me with Michael Sr. comes from is Vazec,in the Tatra Mountain range of Slovakia near the Polish border. There are other siblings of Michael Sr.,just not certain as to how many followed,or their names. I did have a first cousin, once removed, named Gary Gabrick, unfortuneately he passed away a couple years ago. From what I hear,he would have been a very good source to ask about finding out info. Michael Sr. was born in 1886 and had passed away in 1966. The Gabrick tree that I have been working on has been of family members located in Minnesota. With the "Gabrik" connections, there have been those that have roots in Minnesota that I am guessing are connected to my great grandfather, and just have not been able to find the link yet,not even by death certificates. The "Bohemian Flats" was an area in Minneapolis,Minnesota where some of the Gabrick/Gabrik ancestors had lived. I know that the Gabrick/Gabrik name is not that all a common name, but more than likely,we are all connected in some way with the two names. is my web address. Brad Gabrick
