AVOCA - Harry E. Folckemer, 39, of 60 North Main St, Avoca, died early this morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Syracuse following a short illness.
A native of Belsona, PA, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, past commander and member of the Avoca American Legion Post No. 1315, a member of the Avoca Hose Company, Avoca Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Avoca Rod and Gun Club.
He was employed by the VA Center in Bath as a electrocardiogram technician.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Tessie Folckemer of Belsona, PA, his wife, Mrs. Ludmilla Weinmann Folckemer; two sons, Harry and John, both at home. five daughters, Misses Angelika, Sonya, Harryetta, Jeanette and Mary Alice Folckemer, all at home; three brothers, Russell of Belsona, PA, James of Ebensburg, PA, and Joseph of Bath; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Patterson of Orangeburg and Mrs. Jayne Eskman of Anderson, IN.
Funeral Services will be at 2pm Thursday at the Bond Funeral Home, Avoca.
Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, in Avoca.
FOLCKEMER - Friends may call at the Bond Funeral Home, Avoca, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Rev William Howell, pastor of the Avoca Methodist Church will officiate. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
