The Flowers family of Alabama and South Carolina

Classification: Query
Surnames: Flowers, McAdory's, Sellers, Hulbert
The name of Flowers in Connection with the U.S. Census & S.C.

The names of both Henry Sr. and Henry Jr. are mentioned on page 54, Census Record of 1790. Henry Sr. is "Head of a Family, Two males under 36; Two Females. Henry, Jr. is the "Head of a famil, Four males under 16, and two females."

This Census Record names, but does not identify the following names in the South Carolina family: Henry, Sr., Henry Jr. Archibald, Hardy, John, Harmon, and Williams. Hardy and William are also recorded as in "The Cheraw District". As Cheraw is so close to the North Carolina Line, It is reasonable to connect this William with the "William H" of Mrs. Mcadory's Line, Which evidently does not concern the Alabama Line of the Flower's family. (Note. All of the foregoing records were copied from Mrs. McAdory's papers "With Permission"

Taking up the Marion County Flowers Family, We find that The History of Marion County, South Carolina, by J. C. Sellers, Gives data that fits in with the account of the family as recorded by Mrs. Elizabeth Hill Flowers, (Mother of James Drury Flowers) and second wife of John Jefferson Flowers.
