Hi Miranda,
I could not find any old emails from people I corresponded with on John Charles Fitzmaurice. It must have been on my old email service. I did find my old notes though. Here is a quick breakdown of what I have.

1)Thomas Fitzmaurice b1805 in Nova Scotia d 1884 in Nova Scotia. I think his father was from Kerry county, Ireland. Married Alice McCabe in 1827 in Nova scotia. She was born 1805 in Nova Scotia.
They had children:
2)John Charles Fitzmaurice b1828
2)Thomas Fitzmaurice b1830. He married Rachel.
2)Mary Fitzmaurice b1832
2)James A. Fitzmaurice b 1836. d 1921. He married Hannah Beals in 1862 in Nova Scotia.
3)Charles J. Fitzmaurice b 10 Sept. 1867 in Nova Scotia. (this is your John Charles Fitzmaurice). He married Annie Lambert.
2)William Henry Fitzmaurice b 1837. He married Anne White.
2)Susan Alice Fitzmaurice b 1847
2)Edward Fitzmaurice b1848

The PANB has some records for his children's births and for his death. The Nova Scotia Archives has his birth record. The 1901 and 1911 census had the #2 generations and what is probably their children listed in Nova Scotia.
This should be enough to get you started!
Good luck!
Bernie
