MUSCATINE, Iowa - Clifford 'Mike' Fitchner, 86, of Muscatine, died Friday, September 17, 2004, at Genesis Hospital, East Campus, Davenport.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Pete Hagglund of Ziegler Memorial Lutheran Church will officiate. Casket bearers are John Trujillo, Michael Ibarra, Leslie Ibarra, Hector Gavilan, Arasu Krishnan, Sean Swails. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2004, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.

Mr. Fitchner was born on March 17, 1918, in Muscatine, the son of Henry C. and Anna Junge Fitchner. He married Marie Junge on November 15, 1949, in Laverne, Minnesota.

He was a member of Moose Lodge #388, Ziegler Memorial Lutheran Church, and the Farm Bureau.

He farmed all his life and his farm was a century farm in 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Fitchner of Muscatine; two daughters, Judy Ibarra of Davenport, and Janie Swails and husband, Dennis, of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Virginia Trujillo and husband, John, Michael Ibarra and wife, Victoria, Leslie Ibarra, Darcy Krishnan and husband, Arasu, Renee Gavilan and husband, Hector, Sean Swails, and Morgan Swails; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one nephew.
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mildred Frances Fitchner, 88, of Muscatine, died Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Lutheran Homes.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street, Muscatine, Iowa. Rev. Doresa Collogan of Fellowship United Methodist Church will officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Musserville United Methodist Church or the Conesville United Methodist Church. Mildred was born on November 9, 1918, in Muscatine, the daughter of Carl and Phoebe Hazel Spence Rohde. She married Eugene Fitchner on June 16, 1943, in Kahoka, Missouri.
She worked at a button factory and later worked as a meat wrapper at Roundy's Grocery Store and Sun Mart.
She is a member of Fellowship (Musserville) United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Moose.
She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include one son, Larry Fitchner and wife, Terri, of Conesville; one daughter, Nancy Panther and husband, Tim, of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Erika Panther, Nathan Panther, Tim Fitchner, and Laura Juhl and husband, Dustin; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Perez, Dyson Juhl, Fiona Panther, and Delphyne Brutzkus; and one sister, Charlene Ament of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1995, three brothers, and three sisters.
