YOUNGSTOWN - Helen J. Fetchet, 86, passed away late Wednesday evening, Dec. 29, 2010, at Park Vista Retirement Community following a lengthy illness.
Helen was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Bacak Fetchet, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1942 graduate of Rayen High School, and worked at Lustig’s Shoe Store and at the West Side Bakery.
Helen was a member of St. Edward Church in Youngstown, Ohio.
She enjoyed yardwork and gardening, especially growing tomatoes, loved to play bingo, Maverick, poker, and the lottery, and she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
She leaves two brothers, Peter (Betty) Fetchet of Girard, Ohio and Steve Fetchet of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Two brothers, Willie and Frank Fetchet, are deceased.
There are no scheduled services or calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
Helen’s family thanks the staff and volunteers at Hospice of the Valley for the care given and kindness shown to Helen during her illness.
