John Fenwick was born 1618 in Stanton Manor Northumberland Co. England. His colony was in the Salem Co. N.J. area where he attempted to establish a haven for Quakers. Fenwick arrived in near the mouth of the Salem River in 1675. There are many sources of reference regarding Fenwick and this area. R. G. Johnson's History of Salem, N.J. and Cushing and Sheppard's History of N.J. are two of the many sources available.
If you are a Fenwick descendant and need further info, please contact me. I'm a Fenwick descendant through his daughter Elizabeth Fenwick Adams and grandaughter Ann Adams Dickinson.
