BLACKSBURG, SC-- Louise White Cobb Farris, 89, of 164 McKee Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cherokee County, she was the wife of Marvin Farris and the late Rev. Coy T. Cobb and the daughter of the late Wade White and Sally Belle Bolin White. She was retired from Belk and was active in the Senior Centers of Blacksburg. Mrs. Farris was a member of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg and a member of the WMU.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jerry Cobb and wife, Ellen of Greenville, SC and Wayne Cobb and wife, Barbara of Blacksburg; a daughter, LaRue Douglas and husband, Robert of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Kirk Douglas, Kecia Spencer, DeDe Batchler, Danica Goodwin, Rene' Sawyer and Chris Cobb; and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Farris was preceded in death by three sisters, Voltie Hardin, Colleen Wallace and Evalee Clary; an infant brother, Bryant White.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 PM on Monday, October 29, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg with Dr. M.B. Morrow, Jr. and Rev. Vernon Craig officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
