The only Malinda Fancher that makes sense to me would be Malinda Fancher born 1830 in Overton co TN. She is the daughter of Alexander Fancher b. 1795 and Jane Johnson b. 1808 VA. Alexander would be Patsy Fancher Myler's brother. He moved to Carroll County Ark in 1838 with his mother and brother James. His mother Sarah Jarnigan Fancher died there in 1839 and Alexander died the next year in 1840. He was a verteran of the War of 1812 as a spy. This Malinda would have been 8 years old at the time of the move. Patsy Fancher Myler was still in Ill at that time with her brother Isaac. Isaac's son, Capt. Alexander went back and forth between Ill. Carroll County before he left in 1857 in the Fancher Train for California to meet up with his brother John. However, he and the train, except 17 small children, were massacred by the mormons in what is known as the Mountain Meadows Massacre in SW Utah. Also killed were two of Malinda's brothers, Robert and Matthew who also went. For the 1850 census Malinda would have been 20 and may have been married by then. I'd have to do more checking, but this should give you some more clues to check. It would not have been too unusual for cousins to marry back then. There were also some Millers on that wagon train and I have never been able to determine whether they were related to the Patsy Fancher Myler/Miller family, but it sure would make sense. LM
