COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - Ivan L. Estabrook, 79, Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Lutheran Homes, Muscatine.

Chaplain Vicki Pederson will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Donald Bishop, Ronnie Estabrook, Harry Estabrook, Michael Bishop, Steve Bishop, Charlie Charlier and Larry Gasaway. Burial will be at Illinois City Cemetery with military rites by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1565 and the American Legion Post 27.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Special Care Unit at Lutheran Homes.

Mr. Estabrook was born Nov. 17, 1925, in Muscatine, the son of William R. and Florence W. Howard Estabrook. He married Phyllis D. Bishop Jan. 21, 1968, in Rock Island, Ill.

He was a life-long resident of the Muscatine area.

He served with the U.S. Navy Armed Guard during World War II.

He was employed for many years at Star-Kist, Bendix Corp. in Davenport and Roaches Sash and Door.

As a young man, he enjoyed cars and hunting and fishing with his buddies. Later in life he enjoyed his retirement on the farm with his gardening, his dog, Western movies and making cassettes from old records.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Estabrook and wife Sandi of Fulton, Mo., and Randy Estabrook and wife Brenda of Mitchellville; three daughters, Juanita Gasaway and husband Larry and Patricia Hudson, all of Muscatine, and Kristin Smith and husband Bryan of Nichols; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lester Estabrook; and one granddaughter.
