Anna Marie Ritter Emling
Anna Marie Ritter Emling, age 86,
of North East, died on Tuesday September 23, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center.
She was born on August 9, 1922 in Erie
to the late Frank and Mary Miller Ritter. She graduated Academy High School and Erie Business College. Anna Marie was formerly employed at Tacone Corp. & Frye Construction Co. in Erie as an accountant and also at Keystone Foods in personnel and payroll before retirement. Formerly an active member at St. Thomas Moore Church in Ripley where she was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was presently a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in North East. For 10 years she was involved with her daughter as a clown named Dixie Doodle O'Day. The group was named "Chatty Matti Jingles and Friends. Anna Marie loved cards especially Pinochle and Euchre, gardening, "crewel embroidery", reading history and mysteries. She had several pen-pals. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Emling and sisters, Margaret Kinsinger and Leona Lasher. She is survived by daughters; Toni Emling Derks of North East and Marilyn Kinsinger Koehler of Louisville, KY;
and a granddaughter, Lorena Derks of Erie.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment St. Gregory Cemetery. Officiating Rev. David Prenatt, Pastor of St. Gregory Church. Memorials may be made to the North East Food Pantry, Box 628, North East, PA 16428.
