Hi all you cousins and everybody!!
Hey, I just figured something out and wanted to share it with you all.
According to the New York Passenger Lists 1851-1891, the ship "City of Washington" arrived in New York, from Liverpool, on 10 Jun 1872. One of the passengers was apparently named "J. O. Ekstedt" but if you look closely you see that it's a transcription error; the "J" is actually an "F." So there you go. He arrived about a month before Charles was born, having (presumably) left about six weeks earlier.
