Hello Marge:
I've read the exchange between you and Leslie Lewis (a longtime genealogical buddy and collateral cousin of mine) and I have these questions:
Adeline Easlick, b. 1837, NY, was my Great Aunt and I have her as an Easlick with her parents in Palmyra Twp, Lenawee Co., MI, as enumerated the 1860 Census.
This Easlick family had moved to Palmyra from Brookfield Twp, Trumbull Co., OH, about 1857-8. Along with Adeline was her sister Maria Easlick, b. 1923, NY, and who had been a single MUZZY (missing was husband William) when she and her 1-year old daughter Victoria Muzzy were enumerated with her parents John and Margaret Easlick in the 1850 Census for Brookfield, Trumbull Co., OH.
Neither Maria Jane nor Adeline had children enumerated with them in the 1860 Census for Palmyra.
Maria did later go on to Jackson County where she married Wm Thayer in Summit Twp on 17 Mar 1863. They had one child--William D. Thayer, Jr, b. abt 1866 in Jackson.
No question that it was my GA Adeline Easlick who was married to William Neal, as they are mentioned in a 1878 probate paper as filed by her brother David (my GGF) and which order listed all of her siblings.
I have no marriage record for Adeline prior to her marriage to William Neal and which marriage I assume to have happened after her appearance as Adeline Easlick, single, in the 1860 Census for Palmyra Twp.
This all begs the question as to who were Samuel's parents and where were they the year (1857) Samuel was born--supposedly in MI.
I did find the Bert Neil Family in 1920 Jackson City, and I found Adeline Neil alone in 1910 Jackson City. Incidentally, the 1910 vitals for Adeline had her giving birth to five children with 3 alive in 1910. The 1880 Census for Jackson City had her with 5 children (w/parents origins agreeing with William's and Adeline's and which tally then seems to indicate that Samuel could have been Adelines birth child). If this is so, where was Samuel and his father (Charles Pool, as you indicate) in ca 1857-1860? Is this marriage and birth recorded?
Also, I have never seen the given name Cornelia associated with Adeline. Where is this documented?
Also I have no record of the remaining Neal children; Mary; William; and Cora Belle after 1880. Any help here? Any assistance much appreciated. Ed Easlick <edslick@earthlink.net>
