I am looking for information about the ancestors of William Henry Douthat. I have alot of information about his children and some of this grandchildren. There were lots of newspaper articles and obituaries in the Royall family Bible that I have.

William Henry Douthat married Susan Harrison Lewis
William (b. about 1799 in VA) His parents may have been from TN according to one census I have seen, others say VA
Susan (b. about 1806)
William and Susan married Dec 1, 1825 and had 10 children.

1. Mary Howell Douthat (b. May 30, 1826 d. May 3, 1911)
she married John Pleasant Royall (b. March 11, 1827
d. May 28, 1898)
they had 4 children:
a. Ida Lewis Royall
b. William Littleberry Royall
c. Charles Lewis Royall
d. Alice Douthat Royall

2. Robert Randolph Douthat (b. Dec 27, 1827 d. July 4, 1908)
married Elizabeth V. (Eliza) Stoner (b. Feb. 1834 in
Bonsack, Botetourt County, VA)
his obituary just lists brothers and sisters -- no wife or children.
He enlisted in the Confederate army and was at the siege of Vicksburg. After the Civil War he moved to Harrisonburg, VA where he lived for almost 30 years. He was employed as express agent for the Baltimore & Ohio.

3. Charles L. Douthat (Nov. 1, 1831 in Rockbridge, VA d. 4th Sunday in August, 1911)
Charles married Mary C. Whitney (d. Oct. 2, 1898) and had

b. Alma Douthat married William W. Winburn
(b. about 1863 in Arkansas) child -- William D.
c. Charles L. Douthat, Jr.
he moved from Buchanan, VA to Memphis, TN until 1859
in 1859 he moved to West Point Arkansas & started a mercantile business in 1861 he enlisted in the Confederate Army and joined Ben McCullock's First Ark. Cavalry in newspaper articles about him it says he was of Irish descent, his ancestors came to Richmond, VA before the Revolutionary war & his grandfather was the owner of Natural Bridge and proprietor of a large woolen mill in VA

4. Warner H. Douthat (b. about 1850 d. Nov. 6, 1930 in CA)
married Lottie A. Price (b. about 1870 per 1920 VA census
obituary for Warner says he died when he was 80. He had lived in California for 30 years. He is survived by his wife Lottie Price and sister Sue Douthat, several nieces and newphews. No children were mentioned in the obituary.

5. Sue H. Douthat (d. Feb. 22, ??)
her obituary says she died at the age of 97, was a member of one of VA's most prominent families, was a great great niece of Thomas Jefferson. She was survived by nieces and newphews: Mrs. Wilson of Crewe, Mrs. Marshall of City Point, Mrs. Hogan of Richmond (Ida Lewis Royall Hogan), Miss Alice Royall of Richmond, Mrs. Nellie Rung of Roanoke, Mrs. Wilbourne of Roanoke, Mrs. Hobard of Roanoke, and Mr. Warren Douthat of Petersburg.

in Robert Douthat's obituary she is listed as Mrs. W. C. Luck of Montvale, VA -- in Feilding's obituary she is listed as Sarah E. Luck
