Surnames: Donaghy/Donohue/O’Neill of Dungannon
My gg-grandfather was married in Dungannon. I assume he lived there or nearby. He married Jane Hanlon in 1845. They sailed to the US And arrived in New York on 4 May 1849. They appear on the passenger list along with their sons, William, age 3, and John, an infant who died on the ship. William was my g-grandfather. He died in Brooklyn in 1900. The name became Donahue.
I have stumbled across several Bernard Donahue’s that have some connection to our family, but I haven’t figured out what it is yet.
One was Barney Donahue born abt 1869, married to Daphne McCabe. Another was Bernard Donohue married to Kitty or Katie O’Neill. Her parents were Hugh O’Neill and Lizzie Cassidy. His were Edward Donohue and Mary Hanlon. That information caught my eye.
