Jack R. Doering
Jack R. Doering, 90, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, after a prolonged illness. He was born in 1921, in Philadelphia, to Louis and Matilda Doering. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1943, he married Alice Vertes. Following the war, he became a master tool and die maker, worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, sold industrial cranes, worked for several companies in Western Pennsylvania and, at age 60, opened a small business selling machine tool supplies. He is survived by his sons, Jack Jr. and Tim, and a granddaughter, Adrianne Doering Curtis, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Arrangements are being made by HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, in First United Methodist Church of Murrysville. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
