Hello: I don't know if you are still out there - but I've just stumbled across your message and thought that I should get in touch. I don't know anything about Elizabeth Dodds or William Knoll - but I do know about the Dodds Heirs Land on the 1873 Atlas. My 2nd great-grandfather John Dodds (1800-1860) and his brother Thomas Dodds (1807-1857) emigrated from Scotland and arrived in what was then the Grand River Tract, Haldimand Township, Gore District - now Brantford Township East, Brant County, Ontario. They settled on the southern parts of Lots 32-33 about 1827. This is in the area of Smokey Hollow.
The parents of John and Thomas - George Dodds and Cassandra Veitch -- also emigrated at the same time but their father died in New York State about 1825 en route to Canada.
Lot 34, Concession 2 was the site of the Dodds family burial ground. The lot was purchased in 1843 by a James Dodds who appears to have settled there about the same time as John and Thomas - I suspect that he is related but I haven't figured out how.
The Dodds heirs, I would think, are the descendants of John, Thomas, and possibly James.
All good wishes ... and interested to hear about your Dodds connection,
