My ancestors, Tranberg/Dronenberg and Dutterer/Dudderer/Dutrow/Dotterer were from Fredrick, Mariland.
I have traced Frecrich Ambrosis Tranberg to the ship Winter Galley which came from Amsterdam around 1735. He lived in Pennsylvania. The Tranberg (Sweedish - German Palitanate) name evolved to Dronenberg. There is a suspicion that Tranberg was involved with cigar sales/comapnies in Hanover, but no facts. The Dronenbergs and Dudderers married, knew each other and lived in and around Fredrick, Maryland. Mary Ann Madery (Swiss?)married Jacob Dronenberg. His son Henry married Eve Matilda Dutterer. Thier sons, two of my recent ancestors, were brothers, one in the Confederate Calvery (William), the other (Vernon) in the Yankee Calvery. They both finaly lived in Missouri but lived at Tuscorara, MD as children. I found the house they lived in a field near Tuscorara, by the Patomic and also found a letter dated before the civil war from a Dudderer to his mother. Vernon Dronenberg was with elements of Custers 7th calvery at the Little Big Horn and later deserted and got a pension as a civil war veteran (no computers then!).We are most probably related.
