I have come across an interesting discrepancy, at least it seems to be at first glance. The records of the Old Dutch Reformed Church at Kingston, New York, lists an Humphrey Davenport (Devenpoort) who married Wilhelmina Schmidt and had a daughter Catharina (Catrina) baptised about 20 OCT 1745 in Kingston. This Humphrey (Omphrey) is supposed to be the son of Humphrey Davenport and Anna Rosencrans of Kingston, and born about 1714.
I have another record, same parents, whose daughter Catharina was baptised in the German Reformed Church in New York City 22 May 1763.
Two Humphrey Davenports marrying two Wilhelmina Schmidts? Or is the second Catharina a child of their later years?
