The J Eddie Dampier you are looking for is Jerry Eddie Dampier of Brooks County, GA. His father was George W L Dampier and his mother was Martha Hodge. Jerry married Alice Wooten in Columbia County, FL, on 16 Dec 1898. The marriage index information can be found here: George W L Dampier's FL Confederate Pension File is number A10142 and can be found at the FL Memory Project website here (search by the file number above): Jerry and Alice are buried in Airline Baptist Church Cemetery, Mayo, Lafayette, FL, along with their son, William Codie (Cody)'s first wife, Nomie May Pearson (d/o Norman and Mala Jackson Pearson--Nomie's dates are 10 Mar 1906 - 18 Jul 1935, and she also died in Polk County, FL). Nomie was a very distant cousin of my father's; I'm sorry I don't have more information to share with you.

I hope this will break through your brick wall!
