To set the records straight... It is documented that John Croall and another Scotsman (most likely of Davidson Clan) saved the King of England from harm and possible death. As a reward, John was given land in Edinburgh Scotland and a statue was later erected. It was an honor for anyone back then outside of the 8 main clans to receive and/or to own land. After receiving the land, he established a home and business (funeral svcs). It has also been said that John did time in Ireland establishing the mail delivery system. There is dispute whether this is the same John or possibly his son... No dates have been found or posted for Ireland.
