Surnames: Crews, in some instances, really hurts the study of genealogy. All it takes is for one person to make a mistake and it is copied over and over. Case in point is my g grandfather, John Cone Crews. It keeps getting copied over and over John Calvin (Cone) Crews. Please note:
John Cone Crews (1842-1902) was the son of Rebecca Elizabeth Crews (Samuel Crews and Elizabeth Griffis Crews) and an unknown Crews cousin of Rebecca. We know this from Y-DNA testing. John Cone Crews was married to Martha Johns Crews (1846-1903) They are buried at Moniac Cemetery in Charlton County, GA.

John Calvin Crews (1880-1951) is a totally different person. He was the son of Burton Calvin Crews (1852-1934) and Georgia Anna Bennet Crews (1860-1932) .
John Calvin Crews was married to Mary Ellen Chesser (1871-1961). Both are buried at Manntown Cemetery just outside Glen St. Mary, Florida.1842-1842-1902)

Please help and make corrections as appropriate. Thank you
