Hello Andrew, I have only just come cross your posting on the Crawley family in London.

I have been researching my husband's family and have found that Phoebe CRAWLEY (1799-1867) was his 4xgreat grandmother. I have found that her father was John CRAWLEY, but I haven't found anything further back yet. I can't help with sorting out the other Crawley ladies.

I was interested to see that John CRAWLEY was married to Penelope. Her daughter Phoebe's granddaughter, my husband's 2xgreat grandmother, was Phoebe Penelope HALES (1848-1932), the daughter of Phoebe Ann PARRY (1823-1900) and Joseph Bernard HALES (1823-1881). Penelope is not a common name and I had wondered where in the family it had come from. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

You mentioned that there were several nieces of Mary CRAWLEY, the children of Lydia CRAWLEY and Phoebe CRAWLEY. Are Phoebe's children named, particularly Phoebe Ann?
