I'm speaking to my mother as I type this. HER great grandfather was "Pap". His name was John F. Cozat. His son was named William A. Cozat--it's possible that John F. may have had a brother,
I know they lived in Paulding County and Van Wert, Ohio. John F. served in the Civil War.
My grandfather, John W. Cozat was one of 5 children of William Cozat. William's father was John F. Cozat. Our question was whether John F. might have had a brother.
My grandfather's family (John W. Cozat) was kind of infamous because his mother and all three sisters died of Tuberculosis one after the other (because they cared for one another). His sisters who died were Deam, Faye, and Irene. His mother was Mary Elizabeth--she also succumbed to the disease. Only my grandfather and his brother Ted were the only survivors. Grandpa died in 1984 and Ted died in 1986--both in Coleman.

Here are the statistics as we know them:
John F. Cozat--1844-1934 (married to Sara Mault)
------William A. Cozat (son of John F.) 1876-1960
-------------John Wesley Cozat (son of William A.) 1903-1984
-------------Ted William Cozat (son of William A.) 1910-1987

All other information I have on John F. (called Pap by our family). He served in Civil War in GAR an Ohio Regiment in 1861.

John Cozat is my grandfather.

Hope that helps.
