Mr. Cocus of 402 Wiley St.,Princeton,died Sat.,July 23,!994 at a Princeton hospital. Born in Cranebrake, he was a son of the late Silla Joseph and Virginia Caudill Cocus. He was a retired produce manager for the A&P Tea company in Princeton and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Princeton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of Chapter 31 Disabled American Veterans and Post 2703 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had been a resident of Princeton since 1940,moving from Canebrake. He was preceded in death by one son,Johnnie E. Cocus Jr. and three brothers;Jackie Cocus,James cCocus and Edward Cocus. Survivors; wife,Thelma Mae Dooley Cocus; sons,Joseph T. Cocus of Shalimar,Fla.and William Cocus of Princeton;daughters,Linda Gillespie of Troutman,N.C.and Karen Thompson and Sharon Bragg of Princeton; brothers,Claude Cocus and Jerry T. Cocus of Princeton and Sammy Cocus of Rich Creek,VA>; sisters,Helen Via of Princeton,Peggy Hagman of Jacksonville,Fla.,Juanita Stuckey of Vienna,Va.,Judy Black of Falls Creek,Va.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the George W. Seaver Funeral Home Chapel in Princeton with the Rev. George Kelly,the Rev. Lyle Mullins and the Rev. Shawn Bragg officiating. The burial was in the Resthaven Park Cemetary in Princeton.
